The Recent News – Mic Confirmed No Performance Test

Vietnam MIC issued an announcement Circular 01/2021/TT-BTTTT on May 14, 2021, and made a final decision on the performance test requirements that were previously controversial. The announcement clearly pointed out that the lithium batteries for notebooks, tablets, and mobile phones that are applicable to the QCVN 101:2020/BTTTT standard only need to meet the safety requirements of section 2.6 of the standard.

The announcement clearly pointed out that the lithium batteries for notebooks, tablets, and mobile phones that are applicable to the QCVN 101:2020/BTTTT standard only need to meet the safety requirements of section 2.6 of the standard.

After the new standard is officially implemented on July 1, 2021, manufacturers can continue to use either IEC62133-2:2017 or QCVN 101:2020/BTTTT.

India BIS

India’s BIS certification has a relatively long review cycle due to the epidemic. The latest updated certification review scope is for projects submitted before May 28. Projects submitted before then can be reviewed and processed.

Malaysia

As the epidemic in Malaysia has become worse again, Malaysia began to implement a nationwide blockade that lasted for half a month from June 1 until June 14. SIRIM QAS issued a notification regarding the arrangement of restricted works.

The current impact of the SIRIM project is: the laboratory is closed therefore the testing work for new project cannot conduct, however other review jobs that can be conducted online will not be affected.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry of Côte dIvoire passed a resolution in its meeting on May 4 to amend Decree No. 2016-1152 to include lead-acid start-up batteries for motor vehicles in the mandatory product certification list, and to specify requirements and test methods for the products.
