Family practice is a medical specialty that provides comprehensive health care for family members of every age. Family medicine works with behavioral, clinical, and biological science elements and is not limited by the patient’s disease, organ system, or gender. Family practice is significantly different from general practice. Family practice medical professionals receive comprehensive training in outpatient medicine. Family practice medicine has stringent standards for continuing medical education,  board certification, and recertification every seven years.

The concept of family medicine is built around the social unit of the family rather than a particular type of patient, organ system, or medical intervention (such as therapy or surgery). Family medicine practitioners are trained to deal with the entire spectrum of medical issues that might be encountered by the members of a family unit.

About the Practice:

Abundant Family Practice is nearing its first anniversary in operation for patients throughout the Cache Valley. As a Family Medicine Certified Nurse Practitioner, Chad Speth brings a new type of healthcare to the service area. Family medicine works with the full range of ages and medical issues.
