Lost Pattern joined forces with Project Runway season 19 winner Shantall Lacayo on a special collection

Lost Pattern NYC joined forces with Shantall Lacayo, a Nicaraguan artistic designer and the winner of Project Runway Season 19, for a summer 2022 capsule collection. The collection will be released in two parts on June 30 and mid-August, featuring a total of ten items including silk square scarves, silk skinny scarves, hats, socks, tote bags, shirts, shorts, and t-shirts. The first launch of 3 silk scarves can be pre-ordered on lostpattern.com now.

This collaboration is an interpretation of Shantall’s artistic vision using Lost Pattern’s renowned silk craftsmanship and accessory making. The idea of working together started when Shantall was filming Project Runway. Lost Pattern’s co-founder, Yong Wang stated: “Shantall’s reinterpretation of Latin cultural roots and artistic value in the modern design resonates with Lost Pattern’s commitment to redefining silk while honoring the tradition and heritage of silk-making. We always look out for extraordinary artists to tell beautiful stories and we are so honored to enrich our patterns with Shantall’s vision.”

Right after winning Project Runway in February, Shantall devoted her time working closely with Cata Cheng, founder and chief designer of Lost Pattern, on the meticulous work of prints, colors, and product designs. Shantall decided to share personal stories in this collection and Cata ensured all of the emotions are captured in the unique language of Lost Pattern’s product styles and handmade craftsmanship.

When asked about the inspiration behind the collection, Shantall said, “It is inspired by a journey of family experiences and challenges that we live day by day together with our 2-year-old son Franco who is on the Autism spectrum. The prints represent the magical world full of love and fantasy that our son makes us live in – a world filled with strength, wisdom, confidence, and courage.”
