Las Vegas, Nevada, USA – August 30, 2023 – Joel’s Chophouse is celebrating its official grand opening on Thursday, August 31 at 5:00 p.m. The sold-out event takes place inside Ahern Luxury Boutique Hotel, located at 300 West Sahara Avenue, just west of the Las Vegas Strip.
Headed by Executive Chef Joel Ott, Joel’s Chophouse is the first namesake restaurant for Ahern Hotel’s vice president of culinary. The upscale chophouse opens for dinner on Tuesday through Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Its gourmet menu features Chef Joel’s specialty – 30-day dry-aged Tomahawk and rib eye steaks, along with shellfish, seafood and other decadent dishes.
The Grand Opening Menu is being served for two days on August 31 and September 1. The prix fixe menu includes hors d’oeuvres, such as Salmon Caviar and Smoked Pork Belly Lollipops, and three courses of seafood and steak. Each course comes with a wine pairing, all finished with a flourless chocolate cake topped with raspberry Chambord sauce for dessert. It is priced at $125 per person.
Chef Joel Ott moved from Ohio to Las Vegas at age 19 to attend Le Cordon Bleu culinary school. His passion for food led to a 15-year career at some Las Vegas’ most high-end restaurants such as the Wynn’s Allegro and Sinatra restaurants; Le Cirque, Circo, Picasso by Julian Serrano and Todd English’s Olives inside the Bellagio; and at premier properties such as the Four Seasons, Loews Resort at Lake Las Vegas, the M Resort Spa Casino, and Koi Restaurant at Planet Hollywood.
Joining Ahern Hotel in September 2019, Joel Ott is now Vice President of Culinary and Executive Chef for Joel’s Chophouse, the property’s signature restaurant, and Ottimo Gourmet Kitchen & Pizzeria, an authentic Italian eatery. Both dining destinations feature built-in wine cellars.
Ottimo specializes in wood-fired pizza and meticulously crafted cocktails. This gourmet-casual restaurant opens daily at 7:00 a.m. for breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch. Every week, Ottimo offers three wine flight tastings from the regions of California, France and Italy on Thirsty Thursdays.
